BW GREEN BUILDING is an innovative sustainable construction project located in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, that combines modern architecture with advanced environmental technologies. Designed as a nearly CO₂-neutral building, it serves as an ecological "power plant" that generates renewable energy, supports water recycling, and contributes to healthier urban environments.

BIPV

A key feature of the project is its integrated Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) façade, which transforms the building envelope into an energy-generating surface. The photovoltaic modules are aesthetically and structurally integrated into the façade elements, allowing the façade to function both as an architectural design element and as a source of clean electricity. By generating renewable energy directly on-site, the BIPV system reduces CO₂ emissions, increases the building's energy self-sufficiency, and seamlessly complements the overall architectural concept.

Ecology

The project also incorporates a continuous green façade with climbing plants, which improves the local microclimate by reducing overheating, purifying the air, and promoting urban biodiversity. In addition, an advanced rainwater and greywater collection and treatment system enables sustainable water reuse for irrigation purposes.
