The Energie 360° headquarters in Zurich represents one of the most advanced BIPV office buildings in Europe. Following the renovation of the existing building, more than 1,600 photovoltaic elements integrated into the roof and façade transformed the headquarters into a "green power plant", generating approximately 325 MWh of renewable electricity annually and covering around half of the building's electricity demand.
One of the project's key achievements is the seamless integration of architecture, façade functionality and energy generation. The photovoltaic modules form part of the building envelope, serving both structural and energy-producing functions. In addition, the project became one of the first in Switzerland to validate fire safety requirements for photovoltaic façades through full-scale fire testing, setting an important benchmark for future BIPV developments.
