Renovation

Solarmarkt Headquarters Aarau is a flagship renovation project demonstrating how existing buildings can be transformed into highly energy-efficient and sustainable workplaces. Rather than constructing a new building, the project focused on upgrading the existing structure by integrating photovoltaics into the roof, façade, and even the entrance pavement.

BIPV

Custom Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) façade modules manufactured by Intelligent Solar seamlessly combine architectural aesthetics with renewable energy generation, while innovative solar paving further extends the use of photovoltaic technology.

Energy

The integrated 99.82 kWp solar power system generates approximately 80,000–90,000 kWh of electricity annually, covering a significant share of the building's energy demand.

Sustainability

Connected to a district heating and cooling network and supported by intelligent energy management, the building reduces CO₂ emissions per employee by up to 95%. The project demonstrates how advanced BIPV solutions, smart building technologies, and sustainable renovation strategies can successfully combine architectural quality, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility in an existing commercial building.
